Family Math Night at St. Peter School will be an opportunity for children and their parents to have fun together with math. There will be a variety of activities including puzzles and games, for grades 4-6 students to explore math and practice foundational skills. Ideas such a estimation, patterns, and spatial perception will be emphasized. No special knowledge is necessary. We are planning these events to occur once a month and they will include time for students to review concepts they are learning that time. There will be time throughout the night to work, individually or in small groups, and receive some extra instruction on topics students may be struggling with at that time. Students and parents will hopefully leave with ideas about how they can use math at home. These nights will be holiday-themed and are open to students in 4th, 5th and 6th grade.
