Rock’n Readers & Forensics Getting Ready for Spring Competitions

After a “threepeat” of  First Place wins at the Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 Elementary Reading Competition in the Fall of 2021, Spring 2022 and Fall of 2022, we are excited to have two teams preparing to compete in the upcoming  spring competition that will be held on Tuesday, March 28th at Forest Hills High School.  Students are reading books and practices will soon begin before the big day.  Good luck Rock’n Readers!

Grades 5 & 6 students who have chosen to accept the challenge of participating on the 2023 Forensics Team are preparing their speeches for the upcoming regional and diocesan competitions on March 17 & 24 respectively.  Students choose a category and work to prepare their presentations with good voice, pacing, expression and detail.  Coached this year by our veteran coach, Mrs. Holloway and new coach, Mrs. Sanner, students will learn a great deal about good speaking voices and grow in confidence to speak in front of others which is an important skill in a world that tends to minimize spoken communication for less personal technology communications.  Best of luck to our Forensics team!
