Rock’n Readers Win Fourth Trophy in a Row!

They did it again! Our Rock’n Readers continue to amaze us as over the last four Reading Competitions, our school has brought home the First Place All Around Trophy with the highest score all four times. The 2023 spring competition included over 40 teams from private and Catholic schools across multiple counties. This spring and last spring we entered two teams of Rock’n Readers and our teams placed #1 and #2 both times. Our team members really work hard to not only read the 40 + books and attend in-school and after-school practices but they do this while handling their normal school work and maintaining their grades. Many of the team members were also very busy memorizing and practicing their Forensics speeches for that competition at the same time and many also participated in extracurricular sports and other activities outside of school. And aside from the wins, our coaches and volunteer parents were told by other judges and IU staff that our students were among the most behaved and respectful of those in attendance. This is one of those often unspoken or unnoticed traits of the students who graduate from St. Peter School – the ability to not only reach for excellence but also have the ability to do well in school, work on extra activities and projects while balancing out of school commitments. And to do all of it with respect, maturity, and team spirit! This is why so many of our graduates go on to become leaders in their next schools and beyond. We are so proud of our Rock’n Readers and their coaches! Special thanks to our volunteer judges/scorekeepers!
